Interview for Coderbase
The best rates in the businessand none of the admin
Coderbase runs live technical interviews for companies that don't want to burn their own engineers on screening. The sessions are conducted by senior engineers – people like you – on a schedule you control.
What you earn
Rates that rise every year
Most interview platforms pay interviewers a fraction of what they charge the client. We pay the best rates in the business and raise them with inflation. Reliable interviewers can earn more through volume, quality and incentives. No proposals, no client calls, no invoicing.
If a client cancels late or the candidate doesn't show, you're still paid: your slot was blocked.
The platform handles booking, reminders and the prepared format, so your attention goes to the candidate and to careful scoring.
The report assembles from the rubric you fill in live. An optional AI pass organizes the notes and flags anything you didn't capture. You correct and sign off; the judgment stays yours.
In the session
You conduct. The platform does the admin.
Every session runs on the Coderbase platform with the content already prepared. You're there for the part that can't be automated: reading a candidate, probing, and recording what you observe.
Candidates book directly into availability slots you set. The interview format is locked before you walk in: the questions, the time budgets, and an interviewer guide that tells you what a competent answer sounds like, what the common traps are, and which follow-ups to use when a candidate is stuck or cruising. Prep is reading that guide, not designing an interview.
You see a teleprompter with the question, the guide, and a checklist of observable behaviors – "identified the bug", "needed a hint on syntax", "handled the edge case". You tick what you observe and type short notes inline. You never decide a score; the platform computes it from your ticks. Your job is to observe accurately, not to judge generously or harshly.
Finalize the rubric while the session is fresh. AI can organize the notes and flag anything you missed; you review everything, correct what's off, and sign off – that human pass is part of what clients pay for. The platform assembles the report and ships it.
The bar
This is not an entry-level gig
Our interviewer pool averages 12+ years of professional engineering, and our founding interviewers have each conducted hundreds – in several cases thousands – of structured technical interviews, screening candidates for companies like Databricks, Palantir, and Coinbase. We have far more interest than slots, which is the point: the supply of senior engineers who want flexible, well-paid interviewing work lets us take only people who are already excellent at it.
- Substantial professional engineering experience – you've shipped, reviewed, and debugged production systems for years.
- Real interviewing mileage. You've conducted structured technical interviews before, ideally many.
- Observational discipline. The scoring model only works if you record what happened, not what you felt – and your sign-off is the quality bar, so you actually read what you sign.
- Reliability. Candidates and clients book around your slots; showing up is the job.
Around your day job
You set the slots. Candidates book them.
Open availability when it suits you – evenings, mornings, a block on Fridays. Candidates self-schedule into your open slots; you get the confirmed session in your calendar with the format and prep attached. Open as many or as few slots as you want. There's no quota and no minimum.
